Electrical Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Development: Design electrical systems for a variety of projects, ensuring they meet technical specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Project Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise during project execution, including coordinating with other engineering disciplines and project teams.
Engineering Calculations & Analysis: Perform electrical calculations, load analysis, fault current calculations, and design assessments for power distribution systems, lighting systems, and control systems.
Testing & Commissioning: Lead the testing and commissioning of electrical systems, ensuring they are functional, safe, and compliant with relevant standards.
Documentation: Prepare clear and concise electrical engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports.
Client & Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure projects meet scope, budget, and timeline requirements.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards (e.g., ET101, IEC, BS standards) and environmental regulations throughout project lifecycles.
Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in design and process, recommending solutions to enhance efficiency and quality.
Required Qualifications:
Degree: A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline) from an accredited institution.
Experience: 3-5 years of professional experience in electrical engineering, preferably in [specific industry, e.g., building services, renewable energy, industrial, etc.].
Software Skills: Proficiency in engineering design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, or similar tools for electrical design and analysis.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical systems, standards (ET101, IEC), and local building codes.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to address complex engineering challenges in a timely manner.
Desired Skills and Attributes:
Project Management: Experience working on or managing electrical projects, including schedule tracking, cost control, and stakeholder management.
Advanced Software: Knowledge of advanced electrical engineering software (e.g., PowerCAD, SKM Power Tools).
Certification: Chartered Engineer status (or working towards) with Engineers Ireland is an advantage.
Adaptability: Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, adapting to changing project needs and deadlines.
Attention to Detail: Strong focus on quality control, ensuring designs and installations are precise and accurate.
